Brian
is a Ph.D graduate of Trinity College Dublin and is widely respected in the academic
community for his major contributions and expertise. Having extensive experience
in academia and industry he is currently working in Education.
His primary
degree is in Education (Univerity of Limerick) and his doctorate in the field
of Bio-Medical Engineering. Brian has received many awards and distinctions for
his academic work, including; Graduate Student of the Year, Irish Young Engineer,
Italian International Scholarship, and Department of Education 'Easter week commemoration
scholarship'. He
has acted as a reviewer for many of the leading International Journal in his field
of research and as External examiner to a number of Irish Universities. His affiliations
have included corporate membership of the Institute of Engineers of Ireland (M.IEI),
Fellowship of the Royal Academy of Medicine in Ireland (F. RAMI) and Membeship
of the European Society of Biomechanics (M.ESB).
During his tenure as an
academic member of Dublin City University, Brian was central to the establishment
and success of a number of degree programmes including the B.Eng. Medical Mechanical
Engineering programme and was a founding member of the Vascular Health Research
Centre. He was also a member of Academic Council at Dublin City University.
